The Canmore Coho Swim Club was formed and joined the Alberta Summer Swim Association (A.S.S.A.) in 1991. The club provides coaching and training geared to competitive swimming during the A.S.S.A. season, which runs from May 1st until late August. As a member of A.S.S.A. the club is subject to the rules of Swim Alberta and Swimming Canada. Each year in July, the Canmore Coho Swim Club hosts a two day swim meet (Friday night and Saturday) which attracts approximately 300 athletes from across southern Alberta.
