CANMORE COHO NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS President - Sylvia Wickham BOW VALLEY AQUATICS GROUP COACH There's been rather quick developments in joining forces between the Cohos and the BV Riptides by securing a head coach that would cover both clubs. If you have any comments, questions or concerns about this common approach to a community-based group and head coach, please contact our new president and vice president, Sly Wickham and Todd Stokowski. COHO SWIM MEET PHOTOS Lucas Jungmann took some great photos of the Canmore Cohos this past weekend! REGIONALS IN OKOTOKS Since the Talisman Centre is closed in Calgary for roof renovations, the Region E Championships will be held in Okotoks. I hope everyone can make it out to this swim meet because it’s a time when the swimmers will be rested and swimming their fastest. It’s a chance to qualify for the Provincial Championships in individual and relays events at the Kinsmen Centre in Edmonton the following weekend. Regionals is not only an event for the older swimmers at the top of their age group. This swim meet is good experience for all swimmers because it is when Cohos can put their best performances forward for the season. SWIM MEET SIGN UP SHEETS We are in the process of finalizing how parents can sign their swimmers up for meets. We have the option of using the Coho website or posting sign-up sheets in the lobby. Both systems will require parents to sign up swimmers at least a week in advance of any swim meet. Please follow the above link to sign up for swim meets through the Zone 4 website. CANMORE COHO BOTTLE DEPOT ACCOUNT An account has been set up with the Canmore Bottle Depot. You can donate your refundable bottles/cans/milk jugs/etc. AND help support the Coho Swim Club! Simply take your bottles to the depot and ask them to please donate the money to the Coho Swim Club (contact name: Nancy Pollard). Please ask for a till receipt, put your name on the back of the receipt and give it to Laurie Belik. The receipt is proof of your contribution. NEW SILICON CAPS ARE IN!
Our new silcon caps in. Each swimmer will get one silicon cap for the season. If it is lost then a new one can be purchased for $5. For meets, Janine can give out the old latex caps. The caps will be distributed by the coaches!

| NUTRITION INFORMATION Please drink plenty of water throughout the day and always bring a water bottle to your workouts. A little statistic on hydration - if you are down 2% on your hydration you will be only able to work at a 90% performance level. It is also smart to have a nutritious snack after the workout. Be careful of the sport drinks, some contain too much sodium. Chocolate milk or plain milk are great because of their protein content, fruit roll-ups, granola bars, etc. are also good. Take a look at the content labels - and of course you need proper rest. |
